"The Electorial Charge" by Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Hi Friends,

I know it's been a while. I hope your week has been good so far?

I read a brief post by Pastor Taiwo Odukoya (Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church) and knew I had to spread the news immediately. I've actually had it in mind to share something about the soon coming elections in Nigeria and our roles as Christians but I'm a bit conservative when it comes to politics. This post is like a preamble to what I had in mind.

It's a charge for every Christian and party involved. As long as you're Nigerian, you have a part to play. Non-citizen's can also play a vital role by praying for Nigeria especially as regards the soon coming elections.

Christians it's time to back up our prayers with actions. So I'll just go straight to the point and quote his words.
As Nigeria prepares for yet another electoral process, it becomes important that the stakeholders take proactive steps to ensure that they partake in the forthcoming elections. The truth is, your patriotism is best expressed by the efforts you make in ushering in the change you desire. These efforts will require that you make yourself available to exercise your voters right come February 2015 and to ensure you have the qualifying voters card to enable you do so.

I am however aware that a lot of people have turned out to either register or obtain their permanent voter’s card but were disappointed by the seeming inefficiency of INEC and its officials. In some cases, people complained that their details were simply not reflected in the computer system, while others said that the capturing machines did not work. And a third category has reported that they are yet to find the INEC officials in their vicinity. I must say that these excuses are not justifiable. It is the responsibility of the Government, working through the stipulated institution (INEC) to ensure that the franchise of its citizenry is not frustrated by lapses and loopholes in its administration.

As the registration period has been extended, I appeal to the INEC authorities to empower this process to be as effective and seamless as possible. A lot of money has been invested in this. This opportunity must not go to waste.

Nigeria has a great future!

Funny Things About Being A Father

Couldn't let go of this cute pix of David Beckham and his little baby. This pix reminds me of a picture I took with Daddy carrying me like this, although I didn't make a mischievous, funny face. Wish I could lay my hands on the picture. So this is me wishing every father, a Happy Father's Day.

Relationship Nugget by Pastor Nomthi Odukoya

"This picture depicts how a marital relationship should be. Your spouse is your other leg. The progress of your relationship is dependent on both spouses walking together in harmony like legs do. You will never see one leg going left whilst the other goes right: both legs move towards the same direction to reach its destination.
